YOU! have a story to tell :D

I just wanted to stop by and tell you about my class at the end of June, yes we are nearly in June ;) It's on Sunday the 28th of June and starts at 10am. It runs all day long!! What better to do with your Sunday than to spend it at Sugar and Spice. Anyhoo, in the morning we will be making a mini book to keep a record of your memories you want to scrap and in the afternoon a LO which will use some of the journalling techniques we'll be talking about.
The whole day is revolving around journalling and how YOU have a story to tell in your scrapping and mini books. The day also comes along with a handout which gives heaps of ideas for journalling; ideas to get you writing, different ways of writing and how to incorporate journalling on your LOs. We'll also pass around some examples too to get your juices flowing!
It's also a great class if you're stuck in the rut of just scrapping birthdays, Christmases and all those 'typical' scrap pages... this one will really get you thinking!
If you fancy this one... you'll need a 6"x4" portrait photo for the LO, although this can be adapted to be landscape if you wanted. This photo ideally will mean alot to you :) For the mini photos are optional. If you fancy booking this, places are going quickly (as always with our classes) and the class is £30 for the full day and you can book by either calling the shop (01268 530933 or popping in.
See you there!
Polly x

NEED TO MAKE A QUICKIE ...'s not the newest card on here, but I have had requests to show it again.
It's such a simple card to make ..... So, here goes...

You'll need:- white square card, patterned background paper, large fabric flower, some gorgeous ribbon, ink, plain Bazzill cardstock for stamping on and of course the "Build a Flower" stamps from Personal Impressions...All of which are available from Sugar and Spice Crafts

Cut background paper to card size, attach ribbon making a tie closure at the front, attach large flower using DST, stamp out desired "petals" and centre of your choice on plain cardstock, cut these out, remember...when cutting out stamped images always leave a border between stamped image and finished cut. Attach "petals" to the back of the stamped centre and attach all to the fabric flower. ...And there you go ....a quick, simple and effective card.

What a gorgeous day it was today. My lovely mum gave me the day off today and as Ricky was off as well, we decided to take Tyson (our chocolate labrador) to Thorndon Country Park, and lovely it was too, that was until Ty decided to get in the water with the ducks, not realising there was quite a steep ledge and he couldn't get out...

I must be wicked as I asked Rick to wait on his rescue until I'd taken a shot ...A true scrapper I'd say!!!

....And rescue him he did, at which point he called to me to get out of the way, as what do dogs do on exit from water....that's right ...SHAKE !!! and boy did he SHAKE, we were covered in dirty muddy water!! He soon got over his little trauma and was off running around like a looney...

Does this take you back to your childhood...days of just playing in the fields for hours, while mum was cooking the dinner, and there we were checking if we liked butter or not....BUTTERCUPS...don't you just love them !!

Today was also the end of an was the day that my "baby" left school, for those of you that don't know Luke his 16 and 5ft 10, but he's still my baby, needless to say he was rather happy about it.
And lastly, before you fall asleep, a couple of the NEW CLEAR STAMP DESIGNS from SUGAR AND SPICE have been delivered and I had a quick and I mean really quick play yesterday, here's a little taster of what you can do using the "Happy Birthday With a Cherry On Top" Set, if you're LUCKY/TALENTED enough to get on our Design Team, you may even get this set sent to you to play with.

Hve a fantastic Bank Holiday Weekend EVERYONE xxx

Here's a nice little easy one for you this Sunday...

Stamp out your title (I used Banana Frog Pharmacy Large), Cut two circles from co-ordinating cardstock, keeping with a green theme, I used Olive Vine Glimmer Mist on the Twiddleybitz chipboard flourishes. Cut out your stamped letters and arrange, Place flowers around smaller circle (I put diamontes in the centre of each one) I also hand drew "little stitches" around the large circle. I used the wonderful "Collal" glue to stick down the chipboard - it's super!!! Attach your photos and lastly stamp a journalling block in the corner, again BF. and there you go a very quick and easy layout. Now go play, as it looks like it's going to rain all day.....

So much to say in this one.....Here goes....
Thanks to everyone who has told us how much they enjoyed the previous blog "Sharing is Fun" it seems you all LOVED the LINK...more WILL be coming your way - just keep following the blog !!
Just take a little looksey at this..

Isn't it just the cutest little BUTTON TREE you ever did see.... and it's all THANKS to the wonderful MHAIRI who now lives up in Bonnie Scotland. She's used the Scallop Circle Punch as a base for the buttons, threaded wire through the buttons and made that the stem as well. Popped it all into a little green pot, added some paper strips and VOILA!!! You can see it in all it's glory at the shop NOW along side the card she made us - that's just DELICIOUS (there's a hint), she's truly inspirational, YAY for MHAIRI xxxx
For the last few weeks now we've been adding more and more and more stock to the website, Yay! I hear you out of towners cry!! Nina's been busy, busy, busy adding, adding, adding. In fact she's adding the Brand New Buzz and Bloom today - oh boy you're gonna love this, it's just gorgeous!!
The first of our two Mega Card Making Days took place on Sunday and I just want to say a great big THANK YOU to all the lovely ladies who were there, aside from thinking "Oh my we're never going to finish before midnight" it turned out to be right on time and a brilliant day was had by all - hope you all enjoyed your little gift! and yes I am hearing you when you say you want MORE of the SAME - In fact keep an eye out for the end of June when we've got something similar planned with Bev the Founder of BANANA FROG - more details to follow soon - real soon!!!
I can't believe how quick the stock is turning around in the shop, it seems the Invisibles may soon be "Invisible" so hurry down and see what that's all about. It's become a full time job just keeping an eye on stock control and ordering - hence why I need time to freeze - just for a little while so I can have a play with all the new stuff :)
The Design Team Call is under way - don't worry you still have a couple of weeks to get your entries in - I'm at home today designing some New Stamps for that reason. So I'd better make a cup of tea (with biccie) and get designing.

After an absolutely wonderful but shattering long weekend in the shop, I turned up on Tuesday with little flutterings going on.....this was the day that all the
were arriving, and arrive they did, right in the middle of a meeting, with a lovely lady called Helen (sorry Helen)!!!, it was the first time she'd met me and Nina and at the sound of the knock on the back door, Nina jumps up, squeals, claps hands and gets rather excited, as did I, although I did try to stay a bit more professional about it (Oh alright I didn't)!! But I did jump up and promptly make the guy a cup of tea...well you have to look after these men, don't you.
So the last two days have been hard work, getting it all checked, priced and on display, and that we did, boy, we're getting good at these impossipuzzles :)
So what do we have.....Well there's the rather lush goodies from Heidi Swapp, I had a quick play today with the Invisibles and Mega Masks....well one has to try the products doesn't one!!! Loads of NEW Idea-Ology yummies - Masks seem to be the order of the day. Nina thinks I had a Time fetish going on when I was ordering as we have clocks in Acrylic, Chipboard, Masks and Acetate, I'm begining to think that she's right!!! Some great Teresa Collins 6" x 12" acetate sheets, some fantastic Jenni Bowlin Journaling Cards and papers, talking of papers I still can't believe I got them all out, there's Babooshka Dolls, Robots, and Cupcakes all from Kaiser - Oh and talking of Kaiser and Cupcakes you must check out the Kaisercraft Cupcake Albums, they are Yummy. More papers with New York, Vegas and Italy, some for the men, great with Father's Day approaching, including Ties and Soccer, we've got re-stocks of the FANTASTIC Fiskars Border Punches including the NEW Effervescence (I think I spelt that right) !! Oh and I nearly forgot, although this little gem is sooooo LARGE I don't know how I nearly forgot's the Kaisercraft Recipe Stand and it's absolutely gorgeous.
The Lights and Brights Alcohol inks are now in, at last!!!! But oh so worth the wait, way to go TIM!!! Along with the Grunge Paper, it's punchable you know!!!
I'm sure there's loads of bits I've forgotten and Nina's probably screaming at the screen, so you'll just have to pop in and check it all out for yourselves.
See you soon

Today I taught for the first time in what seemed like absolutely ages.
We made this lovely Mini Tag Album, full of summer colours and just absolutely gorgeous, it was perfect as the sun was shining and the music was playing from the live bands on the green at the front of the shop, we had a real giggle in the class, obviously it wasn't me that was doing all the talking, that would be Janet and Sara, I just did a LOT of laughing, at the end of the class we all felt like we'd had a face lift - ha, who needs Botox !!! Nina worked like a looney this afternoon, where did all those people come from ?? well done hun!!!After having such a great day today, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the weekend, I hope the woman who was still singing at 6 o'clock this evening over there is back again tomorrow, she was really good!!
I've got a really BUSY week ahead, Tuesday we take delivery of the new stuff from the States, Oh boy I don't know if I can wait that long, then we have a mini craft fair that we are doing locally, then I have an all dayer teaching 12 on Sunday, the only problem there is, that I'll be dead on my feet, as by then I'll have worked 13 days on the trot - honestly you'd think I'd be a size 8 by now !!! I'll do my best to stay awake ladies, I may just hand out class notes. :)
Don't know if I mentioned, but there's a music festival on all weekend, inc. Monday, at Barleylands, so if you fancy chillin' out and just kickin' back pop on over and just relax.
Have a great weekend EVERYONE

There's so many new things about to take place at SUGAR AND SPICE....Here's just one.

I've been tracking the new goodies from the States and YES they're in the UK, but not Billericay yet :(, so we'll have to wait 'til Tuesday, we should have some more room by then.
