My post for the Jones Design Team for November is rather late....Yes, I did say November, you see I had to wait for the fabulous Captued Moments Right Now Cards from Kaisercraft....but the wait was worth it....they're gorgeous and so versatile !!!!
The thing I love about Kaisercraft is their packs are sold in 6" x 4" or 3" x 4", just fab if you run out of one size, you don't have to buy a mixed pack and can get just the size you need.
Project Life or should I say Pocket Scrapbookng.....doesn't have to be flat and it doesn't have to take hours, you can knock up a layout in no time with a page protector, a few cards and a few embellies. The tip I want to give you in this one, is DONT worry if your photo is wider than the pocket, just look for a place to cut it and you can split it between pockets. All you have to do is take two cards and pop a bit of washi on the back to hold them together.
Next, flip them over and adhere your photo on the cards, making sure you're not going to cut through people.
Flip back over and cut between the cards
Why not use one of the cards to make a pocket, just cut a third off and punch a half circle in the top and adhere round the sides leaving the top open. Pop a photo on and insert, this is great for when you want to do a bit of secret journalling.
Next just add a few embellies and don't forget to use the Kaisercraft Collectables die cut shapes, these are great little additions.

It doesn't have to be loads, in fact this is very 'light' for me .... But it works.
So if you feel the urge over the holidays you can get the cards HERE along with lots of other Pocket Scrapbooking stash and create till your heart's content.
Have a Fabbi Christmas everyone and THANK YOU for all your support in 2014, it truly is appreciated. See you in 2015 with LOTS more inspo...

Life is moving at such a fast pace, it seems to go faster the older you get.
So sometimes you just have to work on the quick.
My layout for the Layout A Week Blog is just that....simple but effective.

It's that time again, actually I'm a little late ....whoops !!! For my Jones Design Team project, and I've got to be honest here, I kept putting this project off, "why" you ask...well, quite simply because when I opened the package from Jones, I gave out a little squeal followed by a sigh... a squeal because of the stash I received, a sigh because I looked at it and thought, "when am I going to get time to do this"?
It looked so complicated and there were so many little bits to the Candy Box Crafts Rotary Craft Storage Unit, but seriously it takes longer to say than do LOL !!!
These guys really know their stuff, the "building" of it couldn't have been simpler, in fact I got it all out and put it all together in no time, so much so that i forgot to take a picture of all the bits.
There are so many gorgeous papers out there that will compliment this product, and Sandra, in her wisdom, sent me the Kaisercraft Mister Fox collection, nice one Sandra !!!! There were quite a few to choose from but I went for the simplistic everyday look, I have plans for the other stash !!
I can honestly say, everyone NEEDS one of these bad boys in their crafting lives, it holds so much stash, with loads of compartments on top and four drawers beneath and get ROTATES.....EEEEKKK !!! I love it !!!
Anyhoo's here's what i did :
As per the instructions I put it all together first before decorating, I applied a couple of coats of KaiserCraft KaiserColour paint in Sage and Antique White, then applied a bit of dry brushing.
Then it was down to cutting into the Fearless paper from the Mister Fox Collection and covering, I just applied DST top and bottom, as simple as that :)
For the drawers, I used a Cropodile to punch a hole and then tied ribbon through.
Then it was on to decorating the front
I used one of the KaiserCraft Wood Flourishes "Bird Twig" I painted it then applied Embossing Powder to give it a bit of texture.
I gathered a few of the KaiserCraft paper Blooms and first edged them in paint.
Followed by a bit of Embossing Powder., I glued these to the front and added bits of twine.
And now I've started to fill it with come of my favourite Pocket Scrapbooking stash.
I've popped some buttons in one of the drawers, well it would have been rude not to !!
So if you're looking for storage, especially storage that spins, go treat yourself, you wont regret it.

Not sure if you know, but now that Scrap 365 has gone out of publication it doesn't mean it's gone...... Oh no.... You can still get tons of inspo from their regular blog.

I was very honoured to be part of that blog just the other day when I got to be a guest designer on there....thank you Scrap 365.

This is the layout I created for them, I was completely inspired from the wonderful Teresa Collins and her gold reign that's going on at the mo, with a little Heidi Swapp'ness' also :) :)

You can get full details on how this was created by just popping over to their blog HERE .....AND.......... that's not all, if you leave a comment you'll also be in with a chance of winning the 6 brand NEW WOW Embossing Powders, It's as simple as that !!!

That's where I've been these past 5 days, Orlando, in fact..but no, there was no Mickey Mouse for me, it was all work work work, well, nearly ;)

I was at the Collins Education and Trade Show, teaching and well, educating the American retailers on the wonderful WOW ! Embossing Powder Brand.

After all the teaching, we do a mini trade show on the Sunday. Here's a few picci's of some of the fabulous manufacturers there.

Here's a little snippet of just a tiny bit of our stand, well, I had to put that first didn't I !!!

Canvas Corp were our neighbours and lovely they were too

The Elizabeth Craft Designs stand was so long, I should have done it on a panoramic, to here's Els lovely daughter ready to take orders.

Here's the fabulous Craft Dee Bows, this lady is just adorable :) :) although you can only see her arm :) . The guy in the background is the lovely Tim, said owner of the Collins Group Company.

Here's the lovely Lou and photo bomber Kevin from Do Crafts who debuted at the show

The Sizzix stand was fabulous as would be expected, they always do great displays.

Here's a brand new company with some cute little designs.

I'm gutted I didn't get the Bo Bunny ladies in the shot, they're such fun !!!

American Crafts also debuted at the show with their WRMK products. I would like it known I had to shove the guy from Echo Park out the way to get this shot and that's what I think he's laughing at !!!

It wouldn't be a show without Ranger and of course Sir Tim

Here's the lovely Dina Wakley ready to do her 'thang' !!!

Where was the fabbi Dyan (dylusions) well she'd popped out the room in her slippers, mainly because a fridge door fell off it's hinges and landed on her foot....ouch !!!!

And we'll end the show with another photo bomb this time from Impression Obsession.

There were soooo many more manufacturers there, but the doors were about to open and I had to take my position !!!

Here's the lovely Mandy Boddy a fellow Brit now living and working in the States. We had such a laugh with her and Betty that night, let's just say alcohol was involved ;)

This is Els and Joep from the fabbi Elizabeth Craft Designs, we don't call him Joep though to us he's Liam as in Neeson...take a quick look !!! Fabulous couple !!!

Here's Tim and Jenni with myself (just) and Richard (Mr Wow!) his name not mine :) :) none of this could happen without these guys, they're just amazing.

And...... Before we knew it, it was all over, apart from one last day to do paperwork and a teensy bit of shopping, Richard was a star and hired a car and seeked out a Michaels for me so I could get my grubby mits on the exclusive Heidi Swapp stash, looks like I was just in time as I got the last bits on the shelf...phew !!!! #iwasjustalittledesperate. It broke my heart to pay retail prices but hey I'm going to find a way of sharing it with my customers, who I know are also desperate !! After all if it wasn't for those guys I wouldn't be where I am today :) :) so it looks like classes a this space.

My second post this month (just got in) LOL ... For the Jones Design Team is again using the lovely Graphic 45 T'was the Night Before Christmas collection.

This time I'm making little baubles, as taught to me years ago by the lovely Paula Brown.

They're so quick and simple to make, so get the kids involved and you can fill a tree in no time.

You can use any size circle punch, my fav is the 1.75" , so go ahead and punch out loads of circles

On a scoreboard score down the centre, do this on all the circles

Using DST adhere the halves together

Keep going all the way round, but before you finish pop a bit of Glossy down one of the joins and add some folded twine

Finish off by adding more circles

And hang with I just have to make a few more to add to my 'tree'

Happy bauble making

This is a little homage to the two wonderful ladies who have helped me no end, getting ready for the Handmade Fair.....i couldn't have done it without you guys ....Thank you Paula and Suzanne,

I started off with this gorgeous little Maya Road Calendar stand......but did I use it for a calendar ... NO... to me, it's a mini album, actually everything in my life is a mini album....I love them.

It's fab as it has such a sturdy acrylic base and thick chipboard pages, that it takes Heidi Swapp Colour Shine just perfect.

I know you can't see it clearly here, but the mica is just beautiful.

I've done every other page, using the fab PaperArtsy collage background technique, as shown to us by the wonderful Leandra. I could happily teach this technique forever as no two ever come out the same !!!

I may just do another class in out for the Sugar and Spice newsletter.

And yes, of course it will be on display at the show :) :)
