SEEING DOUBLE ???

No... It's just a bit of shadowing, after yesterday's card, I fancied going for a shadow look, so just take your stamp, ink it up in one colour and stamp it down, then repeat in second colour, this time slightly offsetting it - oh the joy of clear stamps !!!
I've had a bit of a fetish lately for greens and blues.....So I tried really, really hard to break away, didn't quite make it as I used the Aegean Blue and the Pixie Dust, both VersaMagic inks....LOVE them !!!!
I will slowly wean myself off blues and greens, but it may take a while :) :)
Things are hotting up at Sugar and Spice, we're getting ready for our fabbi Demo Day on Saturday, all the yummy stock is arriving and we can't wait to see Lyn's creations...the woman is so talented...No pressure Lyn LOL !!! So if you're in the area, pop on in and be inspired, if you're not in the area, then what are you waiting for ... get in your car and drive !!! I will post pics on here of the days makes and events, we've got random raffle prizes (the raffle is random not the prize) LOL, Goodie Bags and super discounts, let's face it you can't go wrong :) :)

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT........

You'd forgotten a technique, you read a mag and it all comes flooding back.....That's why we tell people in the shop, one of the most important purchases you'll make is a GOOD magazine and if you're like me you'll keep it forever !!!
So this technique involved me getting out my trusty Scribble Flowers Stamp, it's out of production now, but I may just re-think that...I still LOVE it. Anyhoo's, all you do is turn the stamp over and ink up the solid side and stamp, then when you've done that in your choice of colours, turn the stamp back to the correct way and stamp onto the backgrounds....This works so well for this type of stamp. The leaves were from my "leaves" set, now there's a surprise!!! No they're not polka dot, but I wanted them to be so I just dotted with a pen. I loved making this card so much I made a few...
I know I was lazy, I should have changed the colours, I can see that now, but I'm pretty much addicted to blue's and greens at the mo. Anyway, I'm well chuffed with myself as I actually have cards ready to send.....All I need now is someone to send them to LOL !!!!

FIND JOY EVERYDAY...

First off, apologies if I'm boring you with all the blog posts...I'm on a bit of a roll at the mo and can't stop making, posting, making, posting !!!! I may as well make the most of it :)
This weekend saw us celebrate Ricky's uncle's 65th birthday, so off we trotted to Great Dunmow via Ford End, got to say if any of you live at Ford End...WOW what a beautiful village !!! to a gathering in the village hall all for the love of Derek, it was great seeing family again, but the funny thing was, there we were with our boys aged 22 and 19 and then there were all these little nippers whizzing around, there's a whole new generation come along. I managed to capture a couple (they were fast) I was trying out some KW photographic tips, but you know, they just wouldn't stay still !!

This little cutie is Jackson, when I asked if I could take his photo he just looked at me as said "NO" LOL!!

and this little one is Sophia...she's ALL lady...and I really want those flowers off her dress when she's done with it !!
It's lovely to celebrate and it made me think of one of the sentiments in one of my stamp sets "Find Joy Everyday" which then lead me to make a quick card this morning...and when I say quick, I mean quick, seriously this is one for the "Oh my gosh I forgot" Draw

ROUND and ROUND and ROUND....

Thats the theme for this months Blog over at Fantastic Ribbons....So when I heard that was our task, I knew exactly what I wanted to show you, you see, I'm a bit of a fanatic for making my own flowers, and these are the quickest, easiest flowers you'll ever make.....So grab yourself some yummy Fantastic Ribbon, I've used the Gingham Col 64, it's THE most gorgeous olive green, in fact I should get my hand smacked as I used it last month as well....You could say I'm addicted to it !!!
I started of by punching out 3 card stock circles (1") and apply your favourite fabric glue, mine is Tear Mender, I've never come across anything that works so quickly and uses such a small amount so a little goes a long way :) :) then tie a knot in the end of your ribbon and snip off the sticky out bit...
Then place the knot end in the centre of your circle and start twisting the ribbon as you turn and stick it down..
Keep twisting and sticking till you get to the end and then snip off a bit extra and tuck that at the back of the circle, holding in place with adhesive.
Do this to all three, I then added a yummy pearl to each one, and taking some of your scrap bits (the whole reason why you should never throw bits away) attach to your card, add sentiment and proudly place your twisted ribbon flowers on.
Kirsty would probably kill me for the state of this shot, but the fact that the sun is ACTUALLY shining and caused a shadow made me feel that I wanted to show it :) :) That and the fact that I took it with my iPhone ... shame on me ;)

WHY GLITTER.....

When you can Emboss...
Here I've taken a 20" x 7" canvas, randomly put Versamark over it and sprinkled WOW Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder on, then heat set. Then painstakingly punch out a gazillion butterflies, or ask a very dear friend to help you :) :), I randomly embossed some of the butterflies as well, then attach to 3 blank cardstock hearts, and attach to the canvas. It's still not finished, as I'm searching for a sentiment to place along the bottom. I'll think of one "one day" !!!
Why Emboss instead of glitter....you may well ask...Simple really, once the powder is heat set you're not going to get any irritating bits of glitter falling off. Perfect !!!

THE WOMAN IS A ......

Genius..... AND rather lovely also.
She's made us our own little watermark, she's also in the process of making our blog look "Non-Bloggy" why don't you check her blog out ....
http://limegreenbogiegirl.blogspot.co.uk/
and don't forget her website...it's pure lush.... http://www.kirstywiseman.com/
But her skills don't stop there Oh No !!! the gorgeous photo above was taken by Moi, with the aid and assistance from Ms. Wiseman, so we're having her down to us in September for a one day photo course, spaces are very limited and filling up fast, so get in there, we're also trying to arrange a day of classes with her, so check out her talent and then give us a call to book, we know you'll want to.
I hope you all have a gorgeous relaxing weekend.....let the celebrations begin.
A quick reminder to say that the shop is open on Saturday and Sunday BUT CLOSED on Monday and Tuesday, then from Wednesday it's all back to normal :) :)
Oh look..... here's a quick little card made using our very own Sugar and Spice Dandelion paper...did you know we now do this in 3 colours ?? Just wanted to add another watermark really Hee Hee !!!!
This was probably the most disjointed blog post EVER, but, you get the gist
