sugar and spice

I don't often do scrapbook layouts, but i absolutely love these images and had to do a double page spread with them. Using a pink page that already had a slight pattern on, i used some masks, which i then inked around and then went round with a white pen to add stitching (and yes it took ages!) used some pearly doodles to add some accents. Inked around the photo which i used punches to make a pretty edge that i mounted the pictures on. The sentiments were from the Scribble flowers stamp set, which i just love. I glittered the petals and added gem in centre to finish off, and must admit.... im kind of liking scrapbooking, so may have to make alot more pages.       This shot shows a close up of the stitching detail.

What can you do with tired old terracotta pots?. Spice them up of course with Sugar and Spice stamps and a couple of pots of acrylic paint. Other items used: Multi-Purpose Sealer, Opaque White Ink Pen and Modge Podge, Stazon Watermark Ink Pad Seal both the inside and outside of the pot and allow to dry. Paint the outside and the inside rim of the pot with black paint and allow to dry. I used the different Flower Stamps from most of the Sugar and Spice sets . There is no need to use a block to mount you stamp as you need it to mould to the shape of the pot. Using the Stazon Watermark Ink, stamp your chosen flowers on the pot. Fill in the gaps with the smaller flowers. Outline the flowers with your white pen. Paint the flowers. Pretty them up with patterns to make them funky. Write words around the rim of the pot with your white pen. Seal the pot again inside and out with the Multi-Purpose Sealer. I did use a glitter Modge Podge around the collar of the pot and the tray. Happy Birthday Cup Cakes is a birthday card that I have made three times now and each time has inspired the recipient to by something for the kitchen with cup cakes on it. I hope it inspires you. Items used Yellow Pink and white card stock Light Pink, Dark Pink and Yellow VERSA pigment ink pads Black STAZON ink pad SUGAR AND SPICE Happy Happy Birthday and Fancy Flourishes Clear Stamps White 5” x 5” Birthday Card Fine Black permanent ink pen. Soft paint brush Glamour Dust Glue Pen Double sided tape Foam Pads Quickie Glue Pen Pencil 6” ruler STAZON ink and a permanent ink pen are used as for this card as it is coloured with a wash of water colours and you don’t want the black ink to run.
