No longer dreaming of a White Christmas

Hi all, from sunny and snowy Colorado where I'm staying with family for Christmas and New Year in a place called Broomfield, just outside of Denver. And yes, I travelled with a scrapbooking kit :)

It's lovely here, and the shopping is marvellous! It's fun scrapping whilst away too, I brought along some essential supplies and got a chance to use my new Cricut Personal for the first time. This layout combines cutting, stamping and matting, all bread and butter techniques with some lovely silver and blue wintry colours, it's been my first white Christmas this year since I can remember and I loved it. The stamp is from the Christmas personal impressions set designed by Marion, which I've used again and again this season on cards and layouts. Here it's the centre of the large snowflake I cut and stickled within an inch of it's life.

I hope 2009 has been a good year for you all, but that 2010 is even better. Don't forget to treat yourself - the Sugar and Spice team are always welcoming and the classes are so much fun (when's the next Mega Crafting day M?). Happy stamping!

  1. Sam, a lovely wintery, crisp layout special for the holiday season. Glad you are having a great time and I guess stickng up on all the much needed stash. Love Jayne x

  2. Lovely LO - have a great holiday Sam!

3 and counting....

We’re at the 3rd trade show.... this year !!!!!!
To say I’m tired is an understatement, but there’s something about the shows plus adrenaline that just keeps you going.
There’s nothing better than teaching people new techniques and that’s what these shows are all about. That and having fun of course !!!
We’re all set up...this is the calm before the storm ;) we have so many new things to show this year, it makes it all the more exciting.
One of the best things about trade show shows is meeting up with buddies in the industry and even though I see Leandra and Mark (PaperArtsy) every week (we quiz together) it was great to go out with them last night.

Richard and Mark look like they’re praying, when in fact they were having a bald off 不不不不 Steve has more hair than both of them put together so as a gesture of kindness he hid his. 不不不不不  It’s now 6am, I’m ready to jump in the shower and get this day started... think of me standing from 8am to 6pm.... I hope you get to sit a lot m…

One for the Mums ...

In celebration of the fabulous Catherine Pooler Inks about to hit the store, I thought I'd pop a little card on here. Take a folded card base, I always make mine from card stock, then I know the piece on top is going to match perfectly. then cut a smaller piece and perforate the edges, you can use a perforating blade, if your trimmer has one, or there are many dies out there that do this in a snip ! Using the WOW! Embossing Powder Layered Hearts Stamps, I inked up and stamped using the Catherine Pooler Daydream, Aquatini and Skylight Inks.
Embellish with a Uni Ball Signo White Gel Pen, one of my favourites !!!
Finish off with the Mothers day sentiment from the WOW! Embossing Powder Everyday Sentiment Stamps, inked in Versafine Onyx Black, adhere with foam pads. Check out PAPERBOX for a great selection  of card stock. Thanks for looking
Hugs Marion xx
