It's a frame up Guvnor!

Ok well, please excuse the terrible pun, but this contribution is an altered frame.

Take one plain wood frame, this is a Willkinsons 12" x 12" pine decoupage one, ideal for presenting layouts. I painted it with two or three coats of acrylic white metallic paint to get the level of coverage I wanted. Then, on with the stamping! Using the tiny scribble flower from the Scribble Sentiments range, I went over the frame in a random pattern, allowing some of the flowers to go over the edge for interest. I used Versafine, which had the advantage of giving a nice crisp image but did dry slowly, but that allowed me to use a wet wipe and remove any mistakes as I went along. If you want a quicker solution you might try Stazon.

I then inked a chipboard corner swirl, and covered it in a thick layer of glossy accents to give it a real shine, adding it with more glossy accents to the frame and then topping off with a layered flower with a brad centre.

Just to add an element of bling I then added a tiny gem to the centre of each stamped flower. Once you realise that you can alter anything you want, the possibilities become endless, and with a few simple techniques you can alter almost anything to suit your preferences and tastes. It's very liberating!

  1. Sam, I love this frame. Sometimes your LO needs to be displayed on a wall for a while before putting it into your album. This idea of a 12 x 12 frame would allow just that. Great idea.
