Shrinkie, dinkie, doo dah!

Hi girlie's, this little project I made to show you something that I love to do with my stamps. Oh and to let you in on a little class secret..... I love shrink plastic, you know, Shrinkies that you do with the kids but a crafters version. This is sold in sheets and can be stamped on with an alcohol based ink like Stazon . Now most people would be putting this in the oven, the normal way of shrinking it but here at in Sugar and Spice land we like things to be done NOW and we haven't got a oven too! So we put them in a mug and heat with a heat gun. Make sure you keep moving the heat around and when the shrink plastic starts to bend, toss it like a pancake! It should shrink to 7 times smaller then how it started. Ta dah ! How cute do the Fat n Funky look?! Love and bugs Nina

Framed!

As Mother's day is fast approaching, I wanted to make a card for my Mum that looked good but was both quick and easy to do and this is what I came up with: In order to make my card I used two different coloured ready made card blanks in light gold and ivory colours.   I used a border punch to punch along the bottom edge of both the cards, graduating the cut for a layered effect. I then drew around a circular pot and cut out the shape from the gold card blank only.  I lined up the ivory card blank so it fitted inside the gold card and used the cut out shape as a stencil to draw another circle shape.  I then stamped the swirl shape from my alpha stamp set around the edge using red versafine ink. The next step was to use my stamps to make a scallop frame to fit around the outside of my cut out circle on the gold card blank.  I did this by using the circle stamp from the love and laughter set.  I drew around the same pot...

Keeping It Simple

Hi Ladies, Well it's happened. Been so so busy since Crimbo , that I have not stroked a bit of paper, had glitter in my hair and my Mo Jo just disappeared. So these two little cards are Keeping it Simple to get the flow going. I had two die cutting plates, sitting still in their packs and thought, yep they'll do ............... and straight away made two little cards. Marion stocks the little 4x4 cards and are a great buy. They come in packs of Black or White. Needless to say that both colours are a must have girls. The Scribble Sentiment stamp set is a fave of mine ............ we need more words Marion. I inked the edge of the shapes and added pearls and a little bit of ribbon to give them that little special something. I just needed to get back to the basics and keep it simple to kick start the old Mo Jo. Love Jayne

Friends

Hi everyone, was that the first sign of spring today?.......................I do hope so. I wanted to share this project with you today to show you how some doodling and a set of stamps can be so effective. I used one of my personal favourite set of stamps from sugar and spice called Scribble Flowers . There are three different size flowers in this set and also the words smile, happy and hello. I stamped all three sizes of flowers on pattered paper and cut them out, then by doodling with a white pen on the black background it gave a striking effect.. Almost forgot adding glitter.......................a must. Check out the word smile I stamped in a circle, being a clear stamp you can curve it slightly on your acrylic block. Bye for now and happy crafting P x

Happy Mother's Day

With Mother's Day just 2 weeks away, thought id better get my card done for my Mum for this months post! I used several different stamp sets and products to make this card: All lined up Funky flowers Martha Stewart Leaf and Punch Set Glimmer Mist Martha Stewart Double Loops punch some ribbon and gems too from Sugar and Spice shop. Above & Below - Close up of the flowers i made from Punches, which i then stamped with the Funky Flowers stamps, and finished off with Martha Stewart Leaves punch, (did you know there is the cutest little ladybird in this punch!) this is a close up of the flower, which when id stamped it, and used inks to colour around the edges, i used glimmer mists to give them that gorgeous shine. Finished off with little pearls for the centre. Till next time, take care Nicki xXx
