Pots of Sugar and Spice

What can you do with tired old terracotta pots?. Spice them up of course with Sugar and Spice stamps and a couple of pots of acrylic paint. Other items used: Multi-Purpose Sealer, Opaque White Ink Pen and Modge Podge, Stazon Watermark Ink Pad Seal both the inside and outside of the pot and allow to dry. Paint the outside and the inside rim of the pot with black paint and allow to dry. I used the different Flower Stamps from most of the Sugar and Spice sets . There is no need to use a block to mount you stamp as you need it to mould to the shape of the pot. Using the Stazon Watermark Ink, stamp your chosen flowers on the pot. Fill in the gaps with the smaller flowers. Outline the flowers with your white pen. Paint the flowers. Pretty them up with patterns to make them funky. Write words around the rim of the pot with your white pen. Seal the pot again inside and out with the Multi-Purpose Sealer. I did use a glitter Modge Podge around the collar of the pot and the tray. How about this t...

A little gift...

Hey there! After the kraft-y cards I made last time, I thought i'd make a mini this time. Mini books are just so quick and easy. This one i've made for my sister who celebrated her 40th birthday recently... I used scribble sentiments and the wedding invite sets of stamps for this project... I stamped the tiny star over the number '40' using staz on. It's a cute little star and is great for making your own backgrounds with, or stamping over numbers and letters! I stamped on the little box birthday using scribble sentiments. I love this set!! :D I then stuck the '40' down, slightly over the stamped 'birthday'. The little box holds a small mini, which is atc size made from chipboard... one side I covered with a photo and the other I journalled on and stamped the cute little cupcake from the scribble sentiments set. For the front cover I also mounted the words 'on your day' which were also from the scribble sentiments set. I think thats why I l...

It's In The Can...........

Hi everyone, I can't believe how fast the weeks pass. I've had a lot of birthdays this month and that's meant lots of card making and gift wrapping. So with that in mind, todays project is a gift tin. I have a few of these tins at home and found them perfect for small gifts. I hope this gives you some inspiration to use up some of your scraps of decorative papers and stamps to make a difference to a gift. I've used a decorative paper for the top part of the tin and a lime green bazzill for the bottom part. Once cut to size I stamped the quotes and flowers on the green bazzill card. The stamps are from Sugar and Spice and called Happy Birthday Flower . I then attached the papers to the tin and hid any joins with some ribbon. I finished the tin off with a tag using the same Happy Birthday Flower stamps, edging it with some fabulous glamour dust - a must for any craft box. I also coloured the lid with alcohol ink to keep the colour flowing through. Bye for now and happ...

A bit of a blur!

Ok here goes.....This is my first design team project. I'm Louise and I have been crafting in one way or another for 10 years now, although I have only been scrapping for the last 4 years. I love the feeling of finishing a LO or a card! So when I found out I had made it onto the DT I was so thrilled but worried at the same time, but then I got some of the wonderful stamps from Sugar and Spice and I couldn't wait to get started. So here it is my first LO for the DT, a LO based around my night out seeing BLUR! I cut red and blue cardstock into squares and layered on top of each other. I love using contrasting colours as they really stand out in LO's. I cut circles from the patterned paper ( I used paper trunk papers) and laid them over the photo. The circles almost act as a frame for the photo. I then stamped the flowers from the Scribble flower stamp set and hand cut them out, I curved the petals slightly so they would sit raised from the page. I then taped them around the ...

Summertime... and the stamping is easy

Hello all, and thanks for popping by to see my first Design Team posting. I've been scrapping for a couple of years now, introduced to it by my lovely friend Lynne and I've been hooked ever since, it's the perfect hobby - a combination of crafting, friends and shopping. Throw in some cake (as we frequently do) and it's pretty close to perfect! When I started out I couldn't see a whole lot of use for stamps, how wrong I was! They are a fantastic tool and now one of my favourite sections of any shop or website. I used two sets of the Sugar and Spice stamps for this one, the Made with Love and Laughter and Fancy Flourishes , and employed one of Marion's recommended techniques of using a double sided paper, which immediately gives you coordinating mats etc. Stamps were used here to create individual backgrounds for the non photo squares, keeping the same inks on each to carry the colour scheme. Stamping your own backgrounds is a great way of creating truly unique p...

For the love of organization!

Hello! I am Nina and for anyone lucky enough to live near enough to visit the Sugar and Spice shop you will probably already know me. For those who don't I am a eclectic bug who loves random things in life. I have been paper crafting for 9 years now and have an ever changing style. My first project I want to share with you is an extension of my love of organization, can anything be better then stash organization?! So does your ribbon box look like this? Such hard work when you are starting a project and you cant even see your supplies. I thought I would put to use all the random jars I had been collecting for years and sort my ribbon into colours. This way when I know I need say, a black ribbon, I can grab my jar and have a good look. Once I was organized I couldn't resist making some cute labels with my Alphabet Clear Stamps and some scraps of paper and card stock. How yummy do they all look?!! I am now going to do this with my buttons and bling too! Hope you enjoyed my lit...

Remember......with love

A big helloooo to everyone, I'm Nicola - known as Nic to most people, and I'm so pleased, honoured and excited to be here with you all at Sugar and Spice. I've been crafting for about 3 years now and have spent many a happy hour cutting, pasting and sticking with all the wonderful products out there. I LOVE stamping - it's one of my most favourite techniques and over the past few weeks I've been happily creating away with some of the wonderful Sugar and Spice stamps. My first project I'd like to share this month is a Layout I've made using stamps from the scribble flowers and In a word sets. I wanted to create a frame for my photograph and used the stamps from the scribble flowers to do so by stamping with staz on ink onto a transparency sheet. I placed the blank transparency sheet over my photograph so I could place the flowers exactly where I wanted them, stamped the largest flower first, then made a mask to cover it so I could stamp the other flowers arou...
