Hello all, and thanks for popping by to see my first Design Team posting. I've been scrapping for a couple of years now, introduced to it by my lovely friend Lynne and I've been hooked ever since, it's the perfect hobby - a combination of crafting, friends and shopping. Throw in some cake (as we frequently do) and it's pretty close to perfect!
I'm afraid I'm boringly proud of my beautiful kittens, little pains that they are, I love them! I hope you like my first design, and remember, happy stamping, people.
When I started out I couldn't see a whole lot of use for stamps, how wrong I was! They are a fantastic tool and now one of my favourite sections of any shop or website. I used two sets of the Sugar and Spice stamps for this one, the Made with Love and Laughter and Fancy Flourishes, and employed one of Marion's recommended techniques of using a double sided paper, which immediately gives you coordinating mats etc.
Stamps were used here to create individual backgrounds for the non photo squares, keeping the same inks on each to carry the colour scheme. Stamping your own backgrounds is a great way of creating truly unique papers, cards and layouts. I also used one of the flower stamps to create an embellishement. By stamping the flower on a piece of Bazzill Dotted swiss card and cutting it out, it makes a pefect layer where I've used a prima flower that I've inked to match the edging on the photos. I also used the same colour to ink the American Crafts thickers used in the title on the word sunny, covering them in Glossy Accents to give a really shiny finish. Altering chipboard like this means you can match your letters or shapes, and I love a coordinated look.
