I don't know if anyone else is the same but I have a bit of tendency to scribble messages, notes, reminders on any bit of paper I can find close to hand, with the result that I have lots of scrappy little bits of paper on my desk, in my handbag, by the phone etc... and it goes without saying that I can never find the bit I am looking for when I want it! So in order to try resolve my paper chaos, I decided to make myself a little notebook that I can fit into my handbag and carry around with me and this is what I came up with:
I started by cutting two pieces of chipboard to size - my book is 5" x 6" but you could adapt to any size preferred. I chose my patterned papers to cover my book - I used MME - wild asparagus and green cardstock for the insides and cut the binding holes using a Bind It All machine.
I then stamped the circle scallop stamp from the 'In a word set' using black versafine ink. I wanted my stamp to have distressed look to match the papers, so after inking I stamped one image onto spare paper, then stamped the image again onto green cardstock to get a more faded look. I then covered the stamped image with glossy accents to make it shine. I then stamped the image again and cut out the inner circle and cut a 1" circle and 0.5" circle from co-ordinated patterned papers, sticking them on top and finishing off with a button. I layered this over a red paper flower.
I sprayed some white felt with honey dew glimmer mist and when dry drew and cut out the leaf and stalk shape stitching around them for added texture. I attached the flower to my cover then stamped the 'smile' word stamp from the 'scribble flowers' set using red staz on ink.
Love it Nic! I want one!
