I have a couple of things to show you today as my sugar and spice stamp sets have sure been busy over the past few weeks, as I've been stamping away due to having quite a few birthday's in July and August :)
I made the following card for a friend using the happy birthday and circle scallop stamps from the 'In a word' set and the medium and small flower stamps from the 'Scribble flowers' set.
I stamped the happy birthday stamp using a clear 'perfect medium' ink pad from Ranger and embossed the image with olive embossing powder. I then used the circle scallop stamp to make the tag border. I finished by stamping the flowers onto co-ordinating cardstock and attaching to the tag.
I also used the heart flower and small circle stamps from the 'Made with love and laughter' set to make a very special lady (aka my Mum :) ) a little extra pressie. My Dad has bought her an ipod for her birthday so she can download all her fav podcasts to take on holiday and so I thought I'd make her a little case for it from some felt to keep it safe on her travels.
Now I'd be the first to admit I'm not the greatest seamstress in the world but this little case is really easy to make. If you fancy making one you will need a piece of felt measuring just over 2 inches wide and 10 inches long. Place your ipod on the felt and fold over the top to make the pocket and blanket stitch around the pocket edges.
I then chose a co-ordinating shade of felt to stamp my flower on - I found I got the best results if I rubbed the felt with an anti static bag before stamping. I used a clear perfect medium ink pad and heat embossed using dark blue embossing powder. I then stamped the small circle stamp on the felt using green stazon ink and cut it out. I used multi coloured cotton thread to stitch over the small circle and sewed some beads round the edge of the circle.
I then finished off by sewing some beads on the felt to make the swirls and adding some lace and ribbon. I then glued a basic grey magnet onto the back of the flower and the pocket and attached the flower to the case.
And hopefully this little case will help to keep my Mum's new ipod safe on it's travels :) and this idea could also be adapted to make a mobile phone case.
big smiles,

Nic, how lovely. The perfect present. I have been playing with stamps and felt but obviously using the wrong inks. Now I am on the right road. Your Mum is gonna love this pressie.
