sugar and spice

Well, I finally went back to work on Tuesday, although it has felt like I never even left, oh that's maybe because I didn't !!!!! THANK YOU for all the lovely comments we've had these last couple of days, it's made all the HARD WORK worthwhile, and boy it was hard work!!! I've been updating the website (adding more goodies), ordering in more goodies (don't tell Ricky, I promised "I wouldn't buy another thing") I do believe my fingers were crossed behind my back at the time! and DESIGNING a new cardmaking class, yes I've finally got my finger out, I was up at 5 this morning and sketched out some designs and so far so good, it's going to be all about CIRCLES.... hey Maggie if you're reading this I may even throw in a SQUARE RADIUS. LOL!!! Nina's got some fantastic classes out, she's left me and Polly standing...... we'll have to hang our heads in shame. I've now found my lead for the camera so I'll try and get some pic...

.......BANANA FROG....How exciting!!!!! I've been chosen as a design team member for the SuperDuper Banana Frog www.bananafrog.co.uk. That means I'm going to get to PLAY, PLAY, PLAY with their brilliant stamps, Bev creates some of the freshest and most innovative designs out there..... I'm so excited!!! Right, now I'm going to come back to reality as my new washing machine has arrived, thankfully Ricky's a plumber so that's a "job done", I have about 3 mountains of washing to get through, so i'm off to press some buttons and then cook meatballs....Oh Ricky's a lucky man !!!!!

Helen and Mark "popped" in to see us at the shop on Tuesday and although they may have wished they hadn't......I'm so glad they did. Let the organisation begin!!!! Helen's like a whirling dervish, she get things done at super speed and Mark and Ricky completely took apart 5, yes 5, paper stands and re-assembled them, this time the right way round, the instructions must have been upside down last time. Well I'm not shy of a hard days work but...BLIMEY yesterday was hard!!!! it was also hilarious, Ricky and Jamie were like Dick Emery and Son....."Here Dad I think I've done it wrong again" "You stupid boy"!!! We had to take up all the laminate flooring just to turn it round the other way, so it doesn't even look any different, but I will be asking everyone to PLEASE say "Oooh what a lovely floor" just to make me feel better. I am now rather good at laying floors so if anyone wants any floor laying done I'm available on a Monday!! I'll not be bringing Jamie though as his measuring skill are awful, we've got loads of offcuts if anyone wants them!!! Back there again today, putting up more slat wall and moving the counter, ect. I'm looking at it all at the mo and thinking OMG why did I start this, but I won't say it loud as Ricky would shout back "I told you so" and we never want to let the men be right, do we! Oh, by ...

Since I last blogged.....SORRY!!! Things have been a wee bit busy and it's going to get a lot busier....The christmas fairies are coming....To re-arrange the shop, making it all fresh, new and exciting for you lovely people. By the way Ricky (my husband) and Jamie (my son) ARE the christmas fairies but don't let them know that, I'm having great fun with this mental picture of them in Tutu's with gossamer wings on their backs!!!! It's more likely to be a workers belt and builders bum!!! PHWOAR!!! .....only tears.....BOO HOO, we're coming home, BUT the GOOD NEWS is our flight is delayed 3 hours so we've got 3 more hours of sunshine to soak up before we get back to wet and dreary ENGLAND. THANKS SOOOOO MUCH AMANDA, the fact that our flight is delayed and we haven't had to vacate (oh that sounds so American) the house at 11 am has been a god send. We've had THE MOST FUN and some fantastic FOOD and some rather nice CHEESECAKES as well. Jamie and Nicky left a day before us and I can only assume that they are home safe and sound as, I suppose, with most 18 year olds they forget to let you know!!! Don't worry Jay I'm only your mother!!!! We managed to pack in the parks all last week, good really as the schools were off this week and they became really busy, got quite a bit of shopping done and have relaxed for the last few days, so now I feel really chilled out.
